50th Wedding Anniversary
Fifty years ago you looked into each others eyes and vowed to love, honor and cherish each other through all sorts of different situations. After fifty years it is likely that all of those situations have occurred. Yet there you are, still together, still married, and still trying to think of what to get your spouse for your 50th wedding anniversary. You would think after fifty years that gift-giving would be easier, but for some reason it’s always a difficult thing. Not to worry. Here are some excellent ideas for a 50th wedding anniversary gift.
Traditionally, the gift given on this anniversary is gold. Gold can come in many forms, but one of the most sentimental would be a new wedding ring. As much as your spouse treasures the old one, a new wedding ring can show that you still love your spouse enough that you would marry them again, given the chance.
Gold can be given in jewelry, earrings, rings, or broaches. But, if you really want to show sentimentality, do something a little more original. Lots of people have made their friends and family cry by making an album the showcases all of their fifty years together. More recently, family members have created computer slide-shows, including the music from the wedding, and the photos, that really bring the couple back to the day they were married.
If you are a relative of a couple who is celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, book them a night at the hotel they spent their first night together at. If the hotel is no longer standing, find one very similar, and pump them for information, such as what they ate, what they listened too, ect. By recreating the scene, you are sure to create a memory that will not only bring back the golden days, but will give them a memory to carry on for the next anniversaries.
